Berlin is a fascinating city with an extremely colorful past. One of the major contributions to Berlins rich history is the split of the city into the communist east and capitalist west in 1961. The 28 year split has created two vastly different city sides both of which have some amazing attractions of offer. Although a lot of Berlin’s historical heritage was destroyed during the Second World War a ‘new Berlin’ has sprouted up with a host of new buildings being designed by world class architects giving Berlin a diverse mix of old and new monuments and museums.

Some of the historical sites include the symbol of Berlin the Brandenburger Tor, the glass domed Reichstag, Berlins main cathedral the Berliner Dom and you cant’ miss seeing the remains of the Berlin Wall. If modern architecture is more your thing then both the Jewish Museum and the Potsdamer Platz area are not to be missed. As well as a string of remarkable museums Berlin has a host of gardens, woodland areas and lakes that make perfect places to relax and rejuvenate.

The Brandenburger Tor was originally commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm II to represent peace. It is ironic that this famous gate was part of the Berlin Wall and locked for the duration of the communist rule. Since the wall has been torn down the gate now represents reunification and is the true symbol of the city as it stands majestically in the centre of the city and joins the two sides.

One of the double rooms has a balcony. The appartment is located in a very lively area of Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. Lots of bars, shops and all the public transportation of Berlin just a few footsteps away. 5 minutes from the appartment to the Max-Schmeling-Halle / Mauerpark and 10 min. to Kulturbrauerei / Kollwitzplatz. Here are a lot of cheap cafés and restaurants. Payment at the appartment must be made in cash upon arrival.

The hostelboat 'eastern comfort', moored between two very lively districts in the center of town, looks forward to welcome you onboard with its modern, luxurious atmosphere itґs unique in berlin! We offer German Food! The boat is non smoking, equipped with internet/WLAN, TV room, and a washing mashine and dryer. You may bring your bedding with you or hire it from us (5Ђ).
